ANDREWS EYES POSH EPIC
Dons skipper Keith Andrews says he can't wait to experience the powder keg atmosphere at stadiummk when his side take on promotion rivals Peterborough on Friday night.
Top-of-the-table Dons face second-placed Posh in the biggest game of the League 2 season so far, as the division's top dogs scrap it out on Good Friday.
There's more than just three points on the line as two sets of players look to grab the initiative in the race for promotion, and two sets of supporters look to earn the pride of the region.
A record attendance is expected at stadiummk for the game and Andrews says it's one the whole squad is looking forward to.
He said: "There's going to be a big crowd and I know Peterborough are bringing a lot of fans with them so it should make for a real partisan atmosphere. It should be a fantastic night.
"A lot's been made of the game, there's been a lot of hype in the media about it, but at the end of the day it's two decent teams trying to play football in the right way and I'm sure it'll be a good game. We're really looking forward to it.
"It's going to take a big effort to win on Friday. They've got some good players we will need to keep quiet but we've also got to play our own game and stamp our authority on it.
"We know a lot about them and they know a lot about us so it might be a bit cat and mouse at times but it's something we'll have to overcome.
"They've been on a fantastic run of late winning eight of their last nine so we're in no doubt as to how tough a game it's going to be."
The game is the first of two in four days over the notorious Easter period, as the Dons look to strengthen their bid for promotion to League 1.
And Andrews needs no reminding of the importance of this weekend - a weekend that effectively ruined the Dons promotion bid last season.
He said: "Easter's normally two games in three days so, if anything, we're a bit lucky having the extra day's rest.
"I don't think Easter will make or break our season but it will certainly be significant.
"Last season we let ourselves down over Easter and the two defeats really set us back.
"That will certainly get a mention before the game on Friday and we'll be looking to come out of the weekend with a good points tally."
