Born in Saint Claude, Guadeloupe in 1973, Willy's career started with Le Mans in France where he played with a young Didier Drogba.
He moved to these shores on a free transfer to join Millwall in 2000. After four years at the New Den, where he never really had the chance to shine, Gueret joined Swansea City and quickly installed himself as their number one.
He made 132 league appearances for the Swans before joining the Dons in the summer of 2007. It proved an inspired signing as the indomitable Frenchman went on to keep 24 clean sheets in 52 sterling appearances and playing a crucial role in the Dons' Double-winning season.
A wonderfully athletic shot stopper with a dominant physical presence behind the back four, he's also proved a penalty specialist, saving five last season including one crucially at Wembley in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final.
